Cancellation and return policy – Surgery

Is there a fee for the consultation?

Due to the high volume of consultations, we charge 60 USD (or 1000 Mexican pesos) for an appointment. There will be no charge if you cancel/reschedule your appointment. In the event that you do not show up for your consultation, we don´t charge a no-show fine but we reserve the right to decide if Dr Carmona would give you another appointment.

When is payment due for my surgery?

The surgery fee must be paid in full before the surgery takes place. This payment will be due in full on the scheduled pre-operative date indicated for each individual patient. This date generally takes place 1-2 days before the actual surgery.

Is there a surgery deposit?

Yes. Once a patient decides to have surgery on a specified date, we will collect a 30% of the total amount as scheduling and booking fee in order to reserve that specific date of surgery. This will be deducted from the total cost of the surgery. Patients may reschedule their date of surgery any time before the scheduled preoperative appointment once. If patients reschedule more than once, there will be an extra charge of 100 USD. If the surgery is cancelled by the patient, the office will retain the 30% down payment. In the event of cancellation by the patient or Dr Carmona´s office, due to higher powers (natural disasters, pandemic lock down, war), the whole 30% down payment (minus bank commissions) will be refunded within the first 180 days after making the deposit. After 180 days, the deposit can still be applied to a new date of surgery but won´t be refunded anymore. If the surgery is cancelled one day before or on the day of the surgery by Dr. Carmona or by the hospital due to medical reasons or risk concerns, the surgery fee including the down payment (minus bank commissions) will be refunded. If the surgery is cancelled on the day of surgery by the patient, the surgery fee including the down payment will be retained. If the surgery is cancelled because the patient didn’t follow the preoperative instructions, the office will retain the 30% down payment.
